Is This...REALLY the Sound a Fox Makes?

Annnd I'm back.

Welcome back to Video Roulette. The place where I could probably damage my eardrums with YouTube videos for your amusement. Or just maybe, the next video I watch will have me trying to license Handel's chorus of angels to sing in amazement. Only time and the next click of my mouse will tell.

I've been in a slump from my days being a dork and video watching while trying to catch up on my many subscriptions to various YouTube channels as well as those menial everyday tasks called chores.

But, thanks, or rather no thanks, to a friend of mine, I've been shocked back into the world of random videos once again by a challenge put forth to me by my friend.

Now, this video was sent to her by a friend and thus sent it on to me because my friend knew I hadn't worked on my blog lately.

Well, I've watched the video to it's end and come out the other side and now it's your turn.

Here is my friend's video roulette challenge:

At the first few seconds of this video, my mind was trying to decide if this was some elaborate version of a child's video about animal sounds or someone's joking rendition of taking a song in another language and typing out words in English that sounded like the foreign words.

Certainly the accent coming from the first singer made me think the later over the former. But being YouTube I wasn't going to rule the first option out.

However, I was proven so very VERY wrong.

The words at the bottom of the screen matched all too perfectly and the video itself seemed utterly serious in going right along with the lyrics.

These guys are completely serious. Don't get me wrong. I know all about the furry culture. I have a couple of friends who have taught me a great deal.

This song just gets crazier and crazier as it goes along. Between the non-words the singer uses to describe "what a fox says" and the costumes...there is little brain power left to the viewer by the end that isn't filled with more questions than answers.

All of the imagery in this video is oddly great and the singers themselves are pretty cute, at least from my perspective.

I mean, who hasn't been read a story on someone's lap from a book about the sounds animals make? I know I was when I was a child.

But combining effects like choreography, laser tunnels, and hot guys with fox suits and masks, the odd lyrics...and...oh yeah the cg dancing and rapping fox at the end. I mean really?!!?

There is only one thing I can say about this video: WTF DID I JUST WATCH??!!?

So there you have it. Yet another video that calls for a tanker truck load of bleach. Or in the words of one of my friends that I inflicted this video on: Never again.

And I agree. Once is enough for me.

So, that's all from this confused blogger. I will go back out on the hunt for more random YouTube videos and see what else I can find. Till next time, stay sane everyone...or as sane as possible.

This is Creative Karma and I'm off to back order some more brain bleach.

Are you REALLY born that way??

Allllllo everyone.

Yes tis I, Creative Karma.

It's been a long time since I've been here to torture myself as well as my semi-captive audience that can't stop watching like a train wreck.

However, I am back drawn out of my hiatus of sorts with a video sent to me by a dear friend... Although, might have to rethink that friend bit... Just kidding. I love her for sending me gems like the one she sent me today.

Just like with all these videos, I wouldn't have known of it's existence without someone's help.

Would have I been better off without it? Let's find out as I show you the newest spoof sensation: X-Men Born This Way

Yes folks here is a group of friends I presume that figure if Weird Al Yankovich can pull of a spoof then why can't they?

While I give them that the creativity, unique spin on the lyrics, and yet staying close enough to the original song so we lesser mortals can know what song they are spoofing (save for the title) are definitely in their favor. (Side note: I'm a dork enough to have The Hunger Games in my head after those last words).

What's not in their favor is the fact the guy who is singing the song...just can't sing. Sure sometimes it works but most of the time it comes off more as talking with a beat but not as bad as rap music.

And yet...for this video that is perfect. I mean really, they are all dressed up as the comic book versions of the X-Men. For those of you who didn't know that...I'm sorry for your childhood that was severely lacking.

This video is funny and has tons of WTF-ery in a very good way. I'll admit I didn't know what to think at first but as the video went on I couldn't help but to get caught up in a catchy beat of the song. I wanted to sing along but I didn't know the words.

Honestly, as homemade spoofs go this is one of the better ones. They worked on those costumes and OWNED those costumes.

As for my rating on this video, I definitely have to give it my lesser used rating of Time Well Spent. I enjoyed it for what it was and might watch it another couple of times to catch anything I missed the first time around. I highly recommend sending this to your friends, family, or just anyone and have a good chuckle.

Crazy good things can come in odd packages and this video is no different.

Try it, have a laugh, and let it brighten your day.

As for me, I think I will get back on the hunt for more crazy or out there videos that deserve a first glance.

I'm Creative Karma and I'm a dork and proud of it.

Food and Mystery Bag Review

Hey everyone.

Yes, yes, this blog usually is random reviews of random videos I've found on the internet.

Well, while the Cinema Chick is in town those sorts of things are on hold for a while. But fear not, there is such a video to watch in the meantime.

Our first homage to Ashens turned out so well we decided to do more each day she is here. Well, we ended up doing one two night ago but it didn't get uploaded today and two last night because we didn't want to make a super long video.

So there will be two posts from me today. This first one is our first Food and Mystery Bag Review with the TRASH CAN OF DOOOM.

Enjoy.

First Ever Mystery Bag

Hey all. I know it's been a long time since I've done any video reviewing on this site.

Well my dear friend Cinema Chick and I have on our vacation together have started with some homages to the video reviewer Ashens. Those who haven't seen that man then go look him up now.

And without further ado, here is our first ever mystery bag special.

More to come soon.

Gangnam Eye Joe

Alo everyone.

It's been quite a while since my last post here on Video Roulette. I know I've kept up with my other blogs better than this one.

Well for me, I tend to work on something when I feel inspired rather than forcing the inspiration to come on it's own.

As it so happens, I have finally come across my inspiration in the form of a mash up.

Most people have done mash-ups of songs for club mixes or for the fun of it to see what they come up with.

Seems someone else out there as come up with one lately that I discovered while wandering about the Buzzfeed.com site.

Here is what happens when one mixes Cotton Eye Joe by Red Nex with Gangnam Style by Psy

I can honestly say that in the early days of the Gangnam style fad...I wasn't a fan of this song. Heck, I still don't really like this song. It became even worse when it was used for the pistachio commercial.

Cotton Eye Joe was a song I actually sorta liked. My friends and I were dorky enough back in the day to come up with our own dance for Cotton Eye Joe.

I would have never thought to put these two together in a video but here they are and honestly...it's pretty good.

The mix of the two songs was blended really well and it was so odd that it should be more of a challenge to make it through the song and not laugh. I caught myself chuckling at the blending.

I think this might be the only way I actually like Gangnam style. So I can honestly vote that this was time well spent on my part.

For once, I don't need a bucket of brain bleach. What is the world coming to?

That's all for now, let's just hope my next video find won't make me want to rip my own ears off.

Blind Video

Hello all. It's been a long winter full of ups and downs. But now it's time to bring back the randomness with my first post of the new year.

Sure, I should have done one on New Years but why be like everyone else?

Anyway, I had mentioned in past that I was considering doing videos recommended by friends. Well, I figure it's about time to start.

The way this'll work is just a friend giving me a link for a video without telling me anything about it and I watch and review. It can be an amazing video or a scary video. Any video goes but it's their choice. Knowing my friends...I might have to wonder about my own sanity.

But nonetheless, for the first "Blind Video", the recommendation comes from my dear friend and movie reviewer Cinema Chick. Seriously, check out her stuff.

She's helping me kick off this show with a little video. So, here we go.

Oh the folly to assume my friends would be kind to me for these videos.

I had heard of this man, seen a clip or two used on some shows but I never watched a whole YouTube video of the man....and I still haven't.

Usually, I pride myself on watching a video in it's entirety but sometimes a video comes along that seeps so deeply into the psyche that in only a minute or two you know you will never unsee what you just saw.

That is this video in a nutshell. "Prepare to be disturbed" she says. Oh that just doesn't cover it.

For reasons that should be obvious, this will get my WTF?! rating simply for the mind numbing sensation it caused me.

Yes, I'm sure to have nightmares now. I might have to watch a zombie movie to balance things out. I'm Creative Karma here at Video Roulette hoping no one else will stoop low enough to hump a goat.

Hallelujah Chorus Awards

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the first ever Video Roulette Hallelujah Chorus Awards.

We've battled along seeing the worst of the worst that YouTube has to offer. Now, it's time for the best of the best. But how to go about it?

How can just one video be the best of YouTube? Could I really narrow it down to the top 5? After much debate and discussion, the best way to show off the best of YouTube is by category.

For this edition of the Hallelujah Chorus Awards, there will be five categories which were all chosen by the same friends who chose the their video for the Brain Bleach Awards.

The categories are as follows:

Best Item Review Video - Talkc

Best Movie Video - TheCinemaChick

Best AMV - Larry

Best Video Game Video - Myself

Best Cat Video - Jaysen

So let's dive into the first category.

Best Item Review Video

Originally, Talkc was going to be the lead on choosing the Best Video Game Video as he has played multiple games and viewed countless videos on that topic. Yet, at the last moment he changed his mind and thought of another video that he'd rather vote as the best of. Thus, the Best Item Review Video category was born.

In this category, any video that reviews a particular item such as a game, a food item, an electronic device, etc, would all be taken into account.

And his choice for the Best Item Review Video Award is....

Poundland Food Special - Pizza Snack

For those of you who have not yet seen the genius that is Ashens...then you seriously need to get with it and hurry. Ashens reviews everything from food, to games, to random objects he picks up at a store called Poundland where everything is a pound. And no, it doesn't weigh a pound but cost a pound. In essence, the British version of a Dollar Tree.

This video highlights the very reason why Ashens is good at what he does. His reviews are thorough, informational, and hilarious. Every time he takes a bite of some horrendous looking food you feel for him but you laugh at his reactions. And that's why this is wins the Best Item Review Video Award.

For those that wish to see more of Ashens: Ashens.com

Now for our second category, Best Movie Video.

The Cinema Chick has spent countless hours heading off to the cinema to watch movies and give her heartfelt review of the movie in question.

So when it comes down to the Best Movie Video The Cinema Chick knows what she is talking about. From mash ups to trailers to fan made videos, all are up for viewing. But what is the best of the best?

He choice for the Best Movie Video Award goes to....

● Laufeyson - Thor trailer from Loki's perspective

Now, I personally haven't seen Thor but I have seen The Avengers. Yet, after watching this video I think I might have to catch up with the crowd.

There is always so much more to the people considering evil bad guys from our favorite movies and this shows the side of it that no one really takes into account. The editing, the music, and the story provided by the creator of the video offers up a new take on the character of Loki. Makes me just want to hug him and tell him everything will be okay.

That's why this video earns the Best Movie Video Award.

Now for our next category: Best AMV (Anime Music Video).

My friend Larry I will now joking call the guru of anime videos. He loves multiple animes and if I ever want to talk about them he's the one for the job.

When I asked him to give me his pick for the best anime music video he took it seriously. Every type of anime video set to music either by the actual creators themselves or a fan made video could have been chosen for this award.

His choice for the Best AMV Award goes to...

Kirito/Kazuto x Asuna - When You're Gone

I have never personally watches this anime and that's not saying much since my anime viewing is rather slim considering the vast numbers available for viewing.

After seeing this video though, I nearly needed a box of tissues. The story of this pair comes across amazingly well in this fan made video. The use of sepia like tone to impress upon the viewer the scenes that are from the past and those in the present being the ones in full color adds to the overall imagery.

The music plays the crucial role of getting across to the viewer the depth of the relationship and how it's affecting the one who has to go through life, even for a short time, on their own. Beautiful and heartwarming, that's what this video is.

That's why it's worthy of the Best AMV Award.

With such tearful things behind us, let's move on to the next category: Best Video Game Video.

I have played video games ever since I was a child. I remember going from the arcade into the home. Although I can't remember if we owned and Atari, I know for certain we had a Super Nintendo, Sega, Nintendo 64, Playstation 2, XBox that was later traded for an XBox 360, and finally a Wii. While today I still only have the N64, Playstation 2, and a Wii, I still try to play as many games as I can on console and PC.

So when the category for Best Video Game Video opened up I knew just what video I thought was the best of the best.

The award for Best Video Game Video goes to...

Dynasty Warriors 5: Zhang He - Dance 'til Dawn

While the Dynasty Warriors franchise may only be a simple hack 'n slash gaming style with very little in the way of strategy and only for two players at one time, this video immediately caught my attention and has never let go.

The first time I watched it while playing the game itself I laughed till I cried. From then on, I've shared it with all of my close friends and now I can share it with you. This clip comes straight from the game. No music or editing has been done save for not showing the person booting up the game and closing it down after the clip is over. In all the seriousness of the fighting, a little rainbow managed to sneak it's way in.

That's why this video deserves the Best Video Game Video Award.

And last but certainly not least comes a category that most everyone that surfs the internet knows all too well: Best Cat Video.

My friend Jaysen, like many people on the web at this very moment, loves watching adorable videos about cats, kittens, and any combination thereof.

He owns two cats himself and while they do drive him bonkers, every now and then he finds they do something funny or adorable and he can't help but to love them.

His choice for the Best Cat Video Award goes to....

Kitten crying because she is so tired

This kitten is so adorable that I just want to hold it and never let go. It's so sweet and yet sad that the kitten is so tired yet so scared of going to sleep in a strange new environment. Then, when it simply plops down exhausted you can't say that isn't the most adorable thing ever.

Even with all the noise and care that a kitten needs, seeing videos like this makes me want a kitten more than ever before. The cuteness scale is way off the charts and will melt you into your socks if you're not careful.

And so there we are. The best of the best from movies, video games, cats, anime, and item reviews.

With every brain bleach worthy video comes a video in it's wake that more than makes up for the torture imposed upon the viewing public. The future might come to see a whole new set of categories where we will see the best of what YouTube has to offer or maybe another video will dethrone a previous one. Only time will tell.

That's all from this round of the Hallelujah Chorus Awards.

I'm Creative Karma here at Video Roulette and I'm in the mood for more great YouTube videos. Bring on the cats!

Brain Bleach Awards

Come one and come all to the first ever Brain Bleach Awards here at Video Roulette.

Now, I know time and again I have mentioned the use of something called "brain bleach". Well, it's not videos that cleanse the mind.

This is a term that my dear friend Cinema Chick and I came up with randomly when we have seen something we wish we hadn't and want to cleanse our minds with bleach, thus brain bleach.

Everyone has seen an image, heard a song, or seen a video that they wish they could unsee.

Well, I polled all of my close friends the Cinema Chick, Jaysen, Talkc, and Larry to come up with their candidates for a brain bleach worthy video. I added my own submission and now I have the top five most brain bleach worthy videos.

Prepare yourselves for the horror that only YouTube can provide.

As always the fifth video will be the least offensive while the first makes my brain want to leak out of my ears.

Number 5

Mundo Canibal Podre Shop Nova Geração

This video was shown to me by Jaysen and I honestly was utterly silent as I watched every second of this video. This was mostly due to the fact it's not in English. We presume it's the Portuguese form of Spanish which neither of us knows completely. That's pretty much the only reason it's not higher on the list. A lot of the characters in the video are well enough known by me but some of the jokes are lost simply by not speaking the same language. In retrospect, this might be a good thing.

Number 4

きゃりーぱみゅぱみゅ - PONPONPON , Kyary Pamyu Pamyu

I internally debated about the two videos I was thinking about placing at the Number 4 spot. In the end, the video shown to me by Larry was actually less brain bleach worthy than the other one. Again, this is a video that's not in English...obviously. However, I do watch a lot of videos from this part of the world with interest. Honestly, some of them are pretty good. But this video...um wow. Pretty much every person I asked for a video asked if this one was on my brain bleach list.

I sat watching this video and while the song isn't something I latched onto, the visuals offered me made me wonder about the people that made the video. A brain floating in the window bobbing to the music? What's with the large person in yellow dancing about? Wait, now it's a green turtle spinning slowly? I'm so confused.

Number 3

Undimmed By Anime Tears a 9/11 Memorial Tribute

The tragedies of 9/11 affected every person a different way. Some wailed, some grieved silently, some took to action, and some prayed. Numerous videos can be found on the subject of what happened on 9/11. Many are news casts of that fateful day while others are tearful memorials to the lives of those lost...

Then some people made theirs while on crack and watching anime. I mean...WTF?! Really??? The descriptions says it was meant seriously yet...anime? Really? I get the concept, I really do; however, I would almost had preferred it if they were just joking and did this in sarcasm in response to some really insensitive video made by someone else. The best reaction was had by Jaysen who upon watching the video immediately removed the video from his entire internet history and set to watch videos of kittens. *Shudders* I can never unsee this and it's only going to get worse.

Number 2

Video WTF Of The Week

Now...far be it from me to say what's art and what's not...but I can honestly say I will never view art the same way again. I saw this video ages ago and knew it was a prime candidate for my brain bleach awards. I just...I...there are no words to describe how badly I don't want know this exists let alone see the full version everyone claims is out there.

Despite my best efforts to come up with a truly horrendous video...I am outshined by the Cinema Chick in this regard today.

Number 1

My anus is bleeding.

There are not so many times where I discover the source of a phrase and promptly want to gouge my own eyes out. Unfortunately, this became one of them.

I had heard this phrase said various times by friends and all over SecondLife. While I never really wanted to know the source of something as gag reflex inducing as someone's anus bleeding, I couldn't help but wonder how it became so popular.

The Cinema Chick was "kind" enough to introduce me to this video being the source for future generations to view and quote constantly and unironically to friends and family members. My mind was utterly blank as I watched this little puff ball/cloud/soot ball/whatever speaking in a high pitched voice before his/her (?) anus begins to bleed while other little identical critters cheer and dance like they are on acid. Maybe that's why this video was created. Someone did a shit load of acid and right before they died they created this.

Oh lord, the amount of brain bleach I want to erase this from my mind isn't known by any current standard of measurement.

With that last video finally done, I can go crawl into a corner and twitch uncontrollably till the last remnant of these videos passes out of thought and mind.

I'm just glad it's over...for now. As long as YouTube exists, more videos will appear and another day will see the next chapter of brain bleach worthy material. I hope for my sake I have recovered enough by then to tackle such a feat again.

I'm Creative Karma here at Video Roulette and I think I might have to lie down very still for a long while.
