Welcome back to Video Roulette. Will it be an epic fail or the video of the century?

Normally, I'm able to post more than once a week here on Video Roulette; however, this last week I was spending some quality time with my good friend The Cinema Chick. She and I along with three others went to the Twilight Saga Marathon that ended with the movie Breaking Dawn Part 2.

I will not go into detail the things that happened there on this blog, that is all up to her and frankly it would take more than one blog to hold all of the ranting and tid-bits I would have to say about it. Yet, I do feel compelled enough to make a post simply on my thoughts on the marathon on my other blog "Creative Karma's Notepad" which will be coming after Thanksgiving so keep an eye out for it on twitter.

But moving on to the reason why I'm really here.

Now with the elections over we can go back to our TVs not in fear for our lives do to overexposure from political ads. Yet, with the holidays right around the corner, there are sure to be an influx of commercials selling toys for Christmas...despite the fact we still haven't had Thanksgiving. *shifty eyes* Oh well.

So, in that idea, I decided to randomly type "commercial" into YouTube's search engine and see what interesting commercial I could come across. Granted, in the past I have frequented YouTube and watched many a nut ball commercial from the U.S., China, Japan, the U.K. and so on. Many of them epic-ly hilarious. So with this I had no doubt on what I was to find.

What I didn't expect, honestly, was this:

While I more than expected a commercial for a game of some kind or a console, what I didn't expect was for it to be funny enough for a repeat watch as well as looking for a better quality video for viewing on my site.

Honestly, I see banned commercial and who doesn't honestly think that there will be something "dirty" or "wrong" with the commercial? So maybe banned was too harsh a word for the title of this video. Maybe rejected? Please people, English is a hard language I know but at least pick up a thesaurus. Heck, there are free ones on the internet.

But I digress.

Needless to say, I loved this commercial. It was unexpected, funny, and just plain random. It's like the commercialism version of a flash mob. Who doesn't love a good flash mob?

As soon as it got going, I was laughing and enjoying myself. And, oddly enough, I wanted an Xbox 360 despite the fact I still own three different consoles and have no more room for a new one let alone the money. I recommend to give this one a watch as I search for more just like it. Therefore, this video will certainly get my epic rating of "Hallelujah Chorus". *strikes up the choir*

*ahem*

Give it a look, a second look, a third look. Share it with your mom, dad, sister and even the kitchen sink if you swing that way. I think everyone can enjoy it without to much explanation.

And there you have it. Until the holidays are over and I'm out of my food coma this will be my only video this week. But keep on the look out. Eventually I will rise again and another video will be pulled out of obscurity and into the limelight for good or ill.

Lion Face

'Elo once again for the next Video Roulette. Will we survive the trip down the rabbit hole or will we wake up in a padded cell in a "hug yourself" jacket?

This time around I'm breaking two of my own rules. Yes, I know. Shame on me; however, in doing so I came across the weirdest video I've seen yet. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

The first broken rule was that instead of one word for YouTube, it was two. Specifically, "Lion Face". I figure eventually I'll be doing two words just to add variety and give more room for random weirdness.

Secondly, I didn't pick the very first video that YouTube had on the list. I'll tell you why. The first two videos were about lion face painting. All in all, boring as hell. I was about to come up with a new word then the third video caught my eye.

Ladies and gentlemen I give you CH@NG3 - LION FACE (ANIMAL PORN MUSIC VIDEO)

After watching this video in its entirety, I was so worried about the mental state of the person/people who were a part of making this video that I had to look in the comments and see just what was going on.

Apparently, this is a legitimate band and their fans are extremely proud of this video and support the band one hundred percent.

If you like/love this group, then by all means go right ahead but this is certainly not my cup of tea. I was more apt to be horrified at the music and visuals displayed before me. This I felt so largely that I could barely keep track of the lyrics while the video rendered me deaf and dumb. I swear I missed half the lyrics for this very reason.

Therefore, I will have to give this my WTF?! rating. I'm sure the band is doing very well and love their music very passionately, as evident by their fan base, but I'm just worried and feel the urge to go watch my little pony or something to have a clean image in my brain. I should state that I mean the ORIGINAL my little pony and not the new cartoon series.

Anyway, there you have it. I would like to add that recently I've come up with a new bit of blogging I'd like to try out here at Video Roulette. I ask for any random video. If you love it, hate it, or whatever you feel about it, send me a link. Don't tell me what it is if you can help it. I know that sometimes the name of the video is in the link and that can't be helped.

But as to the nature of random videos, aka Video Roulette, I find that this type of reviewing would work just as well.

Top 8 Videos that Almost Made the Cut

Welcome back to another round of Video Roulette. Will I discover the next viral video or will all the brain bleach in the world not erase the horror that I find?

I hope everyone had a great (and safe) Halloween. Now, I mentioned last time that I would be coming up with a list of those videos that almost made my list but didn't quite make it for one reason or another.

After some back tracking, I came up with the Top 8 Videos That Almost Made the Cut. Top 8 because 5 is too few and 10 is too many.

Let's get to watchin'

Number 8
Pumpkin Pumpkin - Halloween Song

As with the rest of the list, all of these videos will be from my search for Halloween videos. It seems when I looked for random words that I had a bit more luck oddly enough.

In any case, while this video nearly ranked up with the Munch Munch song, It fit into too many categories that my own rating system just couldn't cover. True, the video was "Halloween themed" but it seemed to be just one of those videos dumbed down to keep the little kiddies amused while mommy and daddy had some quiet time. Sorta like the Barney tapes that plagued my childhood. It wasn't annoying enough to scare me and it wasn't odd ball enough to make me curse in horror.

Number 7
Extremely Scary Haunted House

Now, this video made a huge mistake. Large enough to land the number 7 spot on my list. While I don't mind the homemade movie genre, I do mind when someone tries too hard. While watching this video, I couldn't help but think: "they watched The Blair Witch Project too many times". I get that they wanted to create some kind of story that people could relate to and scare people at the same time. However, I was more scared at their lack of being a little more original. True there's not much originality left but it's better to try than to just take the easy road.

Number 6
Preserving Corpses

While the former videos managed to be underwhelming and off balance, this video was just...boring. I'm sure someone out there is interested in seeing how to preserve a corpse. To which I would gladly avoid you at all costs. Sure, this MIGHT be useful for someone who wants to go into this field or has a morbid curiosity. Yet, when it comes right down to it, I'm not one of those people. Not to sound shallow, but I at least need a small amount of entertainment value. My idea of fun isn't learning how to preserve corpses. This would have fit into a category of extreme boredom but that didn't exist on my list...not yet anyway.

Number 5
Spectral - Black Viking Power

Just at the halfway point it a video that nearly had my attention. I'm a fan of music being a recent convert to Halestorm and Eyes Set to Kill as all ready being a fan of bands like Nightwish, Adema, and Evanescence. I didn't mind putting a music video or a video with just pictures and music on the site. While the music is good,  it just didn't move me enough to give it a rating. I was bouncing back and forth. It wasn't a waste of my time but I didn't know if it was time well spent either. Maybe if I listened to more of their music then it would have moved me but this blog is about first impressions and I wasn't just sure about where this one stood.

Number 4
Blood

When this video came up, I remembered a friend of mine talking about a little kid freaking out about blood and chuckling about how the kid was saying the word blood. So, I knew I had to watch it myself. This kid was so cute in his seriousness of the situation that it gives a great chuckle. I'm not sure how other little kids would react in this situation but this kid's parents knew and decided to film it. While this is higher on the list, it still didn't really hit the level of time well spent. It was really funny and totally adorable I didn't even see this video till I was looking up videos for Halloween even though I had known about it for a few months. Entertaining but not enough to search it out.

Number 3
Spirit - Here I Am

Don't shoot me, but I haven't seen this movie. *Ducks* The movie never seemed like something I'd like to watch. Then again, I was in high school at the time I believe so this kind of movie was below my age group...despite the fact we were so easily amused by boy bands...*ahem*. The song itself came across as the typical Disney animated movie song about the person inside and all that jazz. The visuals were pretty and worked well with the lyrics. Though that's a common sense move considering how much money Disney probably put into the making of the movie. However, once in a while I like to go back and revisit some old classics. Even though I haven't seen this movie, part of me would think on this video and give it another look...maybe.

Number 2
Pendulum 'Witchcraft'

Here is the perfect example of a music video that could have made the list. The music was great, the visuals were awesome, and the vocals worked in harmony. The only thing that kept this from making the list during my Halloween countdown was that I honestly couldn't decide where to place it. I kept bouncing between saying it was time well spent but a part of me could foresee looking for more of their videos which would put it closer to the category of hallelujah chorus; however, I wasn't entirely sure it was pure gold that I would go after with full force to watch. Part of me almost decided to create the temporary category between the two but I couldn't settle on a title. It's a great video and a good find just needed to figure out where it belonged.

And the number 1 video that almost made the cut...
Big Bang - Monster M/V

I have only recently started watching what would be considered JPop; although, this seems to be more like JRock or KRock, I believe they are Korean. At first, I was ready to say WTF and be done with it. It confused me with it's movie like opening that made me wonder why it started that way; however, once I got into the rest of the video where the music began and the guys began to sing, I saw that this video was a gem of a find. I didn't understand the majority of the words they were saying but that didn't matter. Most of the images managed to get across the meaning without the use of speaking the same language. By the end of the video, I was left with the sense I had seen something worth seeing; but, was it good enough for the chorus of angels? That's where I grew uncertain. Sure, it's got interest, intrigue, and costumes worthy of any Adam Lambert video but did I want to look for more? The answer was honestly: I don't know. Maybe this video will make it out of the "almost" list and make a true showing in the future. For now, it hit my number one spot for the video that almost made the cut.

So there you have it, my Top 8 Videos that Almost Made the Cut. As I keep searching for videos, I will come across more and more videos and one day my next list will emerge. By the time I hit my 21th review we will revisit the list and see what almost made the cut.

Halloween

It's All Hallow's Eve everyone. Or Halloween for those not up on their history.

While most of you may be seeing this the next morning due to late nights of trick-or-treating, horror movie marathons, or a walk through a haunted house/sanitarium/etc, this is your Halloween post.

True, I let it slip the past couple of days but a dear friend of mine needed some emotional support. Friends take precedence.

For today, I decided to try a simple word "Halloween". While I was wary of getting a scene or trailer from one of the many slasher flicks with that word somewhere in the name, I figured on Halloween it would be a better place to start than most.

Unfortunately, this is what I found:

No offense to anyone who actually likes this group, this being my personal opinion of whatever video I happen to watch. However, I went into it thinking I was getting a homemade version of a slasher flick and I get some homemade rapper video about Halloween.

Now, is the group or guy called Krispy Kreme? That seems to make the most sense here though I wouldn't think a name like that would give one much "street cred" if that's what this guy is looking for. However, if he's looking to be goofy/silly or make some joke about rap lyrics in general then I would say he is 100% successful.

This in mind, I was scared to watch the rest of the video without the aid of a friend to see it with me. My inner video snob reared it's ugly head. Nevertheless, I watched it the whole way through.

After seeing it all, I will stick with my original thought and, consequently, my rating: WTF?!

I was scared, dazed, confused, and couldn't really come up with anything intelligent to say for a couple minutes after seeing this video. Save for some tense chuckling.

Well, that's the end of this video review and that means I've just passed the 10th video mark. This being my 11th video.

Maybe you're wondering with all the searching I do, what videos just didn't make the cut?

Well, for my next entry, I will be doing either the top 5 or top 10 shows that almost made the cut. I'm not sure which one it'll be or if it'll end up being something in the middle.

This one has been delayed slightly since I was out of town visiting relatives and needed some recovery time. But now I'm back in action and ready to take on the next weird or amazing video.

Since I was just recovered from a long weekend I looked for help for my next word from my dear friends.This time the word was offered by my friend Tavian. He suggested I look up the word "mask". So, despite the possibility I'd get a trailer for the Jim Carrey movie I opted to give it a try.

This is what I found:

After watching this video...I would have rather watched part of the Jim Carrey movie. My first thought was quite literally: WTF?! Which is the rating I'm giving this video being it was my primary reaction.

I only grew more confused as I went on and grew more worried. The 80s style theme and music was not something I was entirely used to. While I was born in the 80s I grew up in the 90s. Some of that type of programming survived but it was avoidable for the most part.

I decided to even look this up because I used to watch shows like Transformers and G.I. Joe before people like Micheal Bay. So I just to see if those two ripped off MASK or if it was the other way around or they all ripped on each other.

And what do you know, Transformers came out in 84 and MASK and G.I. Joe in 85. Surprise Surprise. Not sure if G.I. Joe came out earlier I'm really not that concerned about all this.

Needless to say, this was just another one of those TV shows created to sell toys.

Time to go use a gallon of my brain bleach and prepare myself for the worst while hoping for the best.

The 26 Days Till Halloween Countdown will press on. Only 14 more days till you either hide in your house or celebrate the day that everyone helps bolster the dental profession by giving kids too much candy.

Jack o' Lantern

Hello and welcome back to the Halloween edition of Video Roulette. The 26 Days Till Halloween Countdown is now in full swing having managed to now do two videos in a row *gasp*.

If you're just tuning in I'm Creative Karma and I'm here to give my ruling on yet another random video from the internet. Will it send me running from the room in horror or will I dance in my chair with glee? Time to dive right in and find out.

As those of you know who have been keeping up with my posts, I've been having a bit of trouble coming up with the next word of the day. Most of them lead to trailers for movies or music videos. While those are all well and good and despite the fact I have shown a trailer here before...it was all because it was something unexpected that came out of the word I typed into YouTube.

That's the end goal here. Not the expected but the unexpected. Like when I typed in Wolfman I knew I was going to get a trailer for a movie. I watch far too much TV to miss a movie trailer.

So in my search for my next video, I went back to former words I tried to see if anything new had come up. Sadly, this was not the case.

In the end, I chose more out of necessity than looking for some awesome video. That being said the word I chose was Jack o' Lantern. 

Now, one might like to nickpick about that word and think it is two or three words I would like to point out that if someone is talking about a pumpkin if one simply talks about setting out a Jack or a Lantern I doubt the first thing on your mind would be a pumpkin that was carved and back lit by a candle.

So Jack o' Lantern it was that I put into the YouTube search engine. And, as expected, I found videos about carving pumpkins. But this was the first video on the list:

Now, while I'm a fan of Halloween. All the dressing up and well carved pumpkins that people put a lot of time into carving...sometimes with screaming kids in the background. While watching this video all I could think was: meh. I mean, it wasn't a total waste of my time but I wasn't riveted to the screen and looking for more.

I admit, some of the pumpkins featured in this video are pretty cool looking. The geek in me ogled the Link carved pumpkin and the death star.

However, the rest of them just seemed like typical pumpkin carving to me. Nothing to get all excited about.

So, this video, while having it's interesting and boring parts, I decided will land in the grey area between Who Cares and Time Well Spent. For the lack of a better term, for now, we'll call this: It's All Right. I'm not completely bored but on the other hand I'm not completely thrilled either.

But, as you can very well see, I'm in dire need of fresh words for this Halloween special. No matter the word you pick I'll do the first video that comes up. The only stipulation is that, for the time being, the word has to be Halloween or spooky themed.

Supernatural

Once again, it's that lovely time to either make myself and everyone who reads this blog either want to rip their eyes out of their sockets, look at the screen wondering why that even exists or singing songs of praise to the people who came up with the video.

Yes, it's Video Roulette time again. Back for the 26 Days to Halloween Countdown. Though I was intending to do this blog post on the 10th of October, I wasted too much time looking at Ashen's videos and it's now nearly two a.m. here. In any case I finally came up with a video for day the 11th of October.

For those who need the countdown for some reason that means there are only 20 days left till Halloween. Enough time to buy all the candy for the various children with their parents or enough warning to lock the house down to keep all the children away from your abode.

Oddly enough, as I was looking for my next Halloween type word, I tried pulling up common words associated with Halloween. Most of the first videos associated with those words were so boring they didn't even rate a Who Cares. If I had one for Put Me To Sleep then it'd fit in right there.

However, without a way to rate those videos it took me forever to come up with one worth the effort. Don't get me wrong, I came across numerous music videos associated with those words. Everything from metal to folk to J-Pop. Surprisingly, the J-Pop was actually the best one out of the bunch. But I still couldn't figure out how to rate the thing so maybe later I'll do a blog of videos that almost made the cut and the word associated with them.

But back on track now. After much debating, the word I ended up with was Supernatural. Yes, I could have ended up with yet another video of haunting and the like, but for those of you that watch as much TV as I do might come up with another visual for that word. Let's see if yours is the same as mine.

If you guessed the show Supernatural then you are just a big a couch potato as I am. Although technically I watch from my computer chair.

I thought I'd end up with a video from the show as a possibility when I typed that word into the search engine. However, what I didn't expect was that I was going to get probably the weirdest yet funniest thing I've ever seen out of that show.

If you're looking at the title of the video, this is no joke. Jensen Ackles who plays the character Dean is really lip-syncing the song The Eye of the Tiger.

For those that are saying that this video isn't Halloween themed, I say this, I never promised Halloween videos only Halloween words. I can't control what YouTube spits out. In any case the show itself is about two boys who hunt critters like vampires, demons, ghosts, etc etc. That's Halloween enough for me.

Now, when I was trying to come up with a rating for this video I had a bit of a task ahead of me. At first watch I was bouncing between saying WTF?! and laughing endlessly. So, I watched it again. The shock value had lessened and I could only sit there laughing so hard I was crying and unable to see the computer screen.

That's why I decided to give this one a Hallelujah Chorus rating. While some people may not think it's funny, for me it hits all the right buttons. I like a man that likes to goof off and do random crap like that just for a laugh.

So there you are, a video viewer brought to laughing fits over a video. I have to say that's a first for this blog.
